Four viewers, an old iMac that could barely manage the stream, and a voice she was almost too shy to share.
Izzy was playing Minecraft on Twitch, but the game was never the main attraction. People stayed for her singing, humour and personality. She had the talent — she just needed the confidence and setup to let people see it.
What Izzy said:
“His help over multiple years was absolutely invaluable in terms of the quality of content I was consequently able to put out, as well as the ease with which I could do this.”
The situation
Charlie met Izzy as her 51st Twitch follower, just as she had reached the point where she could begin earning money from streaming.
At the time, she was broadcasting to around four people from an ageing iMac that could barely keep up. She was extremely shy, rarely sang on stream and was still figuring out how to turn her personality and talent into a consistent live experience.
She needed more than better equipment. She needed someone who could help her develop her ideas, build her confidence and make the technology feel manageable.
What Charlie did
- Became a trusted thought partner for ideas, content decisions and creative direction
- Encouraged Izzy to sing more and lean into the personality her audience was responding to
- Advised her on choosing and setting up a new computer, microphone and streaming equipment
- Configured her audio so her voice and singing sounded clear and professional
- Optimised OBS so she could manage her streams smoothly while live
- Set up follower alerts, live follower counts and subscriber goals that encouraged audience participation
- Built everything around her existing personality and brand rather than making the stream feel generic
- Explained the technology calmly and systematically so she could understand and manage it herself
The result
Izzy grew from around four live viewers to a peak average of approximately 2,000 people watching at any given time.
She reached over 83,000 Twitch followers, accumulated approximately 1.3 million likes on TikTok and generated more than £10,000 in profit.
The talent, performances and community were Izzy’s. Charlie helped create the confidence, ideas and technical environment that allowed her to make the most of them.
“His advice and knowledge were always spot-on, but he also never made me feel silly for not knowing those things.”
“Charlie and I met through Twitch streaming in 2020/2021, and he quickly became both a friend and someone I regularly turned to for technical advice. He helped me set up my new PC over the phone, including accessories I was unfamiliar with, such as a proper studio microphone. In particular, he was instrumental in optimising my OBS setup for my streams.
His help over multiple years was absolutely invaluable, both in improving the quality of the content I was able to produce and in making it much easier to create, especially when reacting smoothly while live on camera.
Charlie’s advice and knowledge were always spot on, but what really stood out was his calm and systematic approach. He never made me feel silly for not knowing something, and he always explained things in a way that was straightforward to follow. That combination of technical expertise and patience made all the difference.”
